Analog Communication System :
In analog communication the data is transferred with the help of analog signal in between transmitter and receiver.
Data is converted into electronic form first and after that it is passed through communication channel.
Examples : FM Radio, Analog telephone systems.
Digital Communication System :
In digital communication physical transfer of data occurs in the form of digital bit stream i.e. 0 or 1.
Digital transmission data can be the broken into packets as discrete messages.
Examples : Digital television, Cellular networks.
Difference between Analog and Digital Communication System :
Analog Communication System | Digital Communication System |
Continuous analog signals | Discreate binary signals |
Accuracy is low | Accuracy is high |
Denoted by sine waves | Denoted by square waves |
Analog hardware is not flexible in implementation | Digital hardware is not flexible in implementation |
Analog instruments consumes more power | Digital instruments consumes negligible power |
Examples : FM Radio, Analog telephone systems | Examples : Digital television, Cellular networks |
